Studying God's Word is a non-negotiable part of the life of a maturing follower of Christ. Praying Scripture helps us focus on the truth of the Bible, guides us to think rightly about who God is, and builds our faith as we get to know His character through the verses. Looking at Luke 23, here are some promises and truths we can pray:
Thank You, God, that Your Word is true and every word You have spoken will come to pass. (See Luke 23:16 & Isaiah 53:7)
Thank You, Lord, that Your plan to bring us into a relationship with You found its fulfillment in Christ.
Praise God that Jesus endured the Father's plan, knowing His exceedingly great suffering would lead to eternal life for any and all who trust in Him.

Example Prayer:
Jesus,
We praise You for Your love so immeasurable and Your sacrifice so unfathomable. We glorify You, God, for how we can see that You’ve always been moving to work out Your plan of redemption—and how You’ve given us the benefit of hindsight to see that what Your Word said about Christ came to be.
Forgive us, Lord, that despite ample evidence, we sometimes doubt Your goodness to us. We confess, Lord, that it was our sin that required Jesus to be hung on the cross. But we are so grateful that our Savior went through with the great rescue mission.
In the times when we struggle to believe in Your goodness—whether in big life decisions or the small, day-to-day choices—help us to trust You. Please let our gratitude and love for You overflow in our lives so that we live wholly devoted to You.
We believe. Help our unbelief.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
