Pray for: Luke 22:1-46

View the passage here : Luke 22:1-46

As believers, we can pray God’s promises back to Him, confident that He will fulfill all that He has promised. As God reveals truths about who He is through His Word, we should respond with praise and gratitude. Reflecting on the passage from this past Sunday, here are some key promises from God's Word that we can pray:

  1. Thank God for sending His Son and for establishing the new covenant of grace through Jesus Christ (Luke 22:19-20).

  2. Praise God for His sovereignty and perfect knowledge, as shown in His control over all things (Luke 22:21-22).

  3. Reflect on Jesus’ perfect obedience and submission to the will of the Father, and ask God for the strength to follow His example in times of trouble (Luke 22:42).

Example Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

You are a God of great love and compassion. Thank You for sending Jesus to pay the penalty for our sins, offering us the gift of eternal life with You.

I confess that I often struggle with obedience and find it difficult to humbly submit to Your will, especially in times of trouble. I admit that at times I fear that You won’t provide for me, and that leads me to doubt Your goodness.

Thank You for Jesus' perfect obedience, even unto death. His sacrifice has given me life, and for that, I am forever grateful.

Help me, Lord, to trust in Your faithfulness. Strengthen me to follow Jesus' example of obedience, knowing that You are a faithful God who can be trusted in all circumstances.

In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
